A Legacy That Became a Mission

One Leak Away Foundation began with something deeply personal.

For our founder, Stacey N. Pompey, this work is more than repairing homes. It is a way of honoring the legacy of her father, Charles Michael Pompey, and carrying forward the values of service, compassion, dignity, and helping others when they need it most.

His life and example helped shape Stacey’s desire to serve people who are too often overlooked—especially veterans, seniors, and underserved homeowners facing critical needs in their homes.

What began as a desire to honor one life has grown into a mission to help protect many others.

Why One Leak Away?

Sometimes, it starts with something that seems small.

A leaking pipe.
A failing water heater.
A damaged water line.
Water entering a home.

But for a senior living on a fixed income, a veteran facing financial hardship, or a family already struggling to make ends meet, one repair can quickly become much more.

A small water problem can threaten the safety of a home, create additional damage, and eventually place the homeowner’s stability at risk.

That is where One Leak Away Foundation wants to make a difference.

We believe people should not have to lose the safety and security of their home simply because they cannot afford a critical repair.

Stacey founded One Leak Away Foundation with a heart to serve and a commitment to continue the legacy her father, Charles Michael Pompey, left behind.

Through this foundation, his legacy lives on every time a homeowner receives support, every time a senior is able to remain safely in their home, and every time a veteran or underserved family knows they are not facing a difficult situation alone.

One Leak Away works to identify critical water infrastructure and related home-repair needs, connect homeowners with available resources, and coordinate qualified professionals who can help complete the necessary work.

It is about more than fixing what is broken.

It is about protecting dignity, preserving homes, and giving people hope.
